A profile is a complete collection of settings for an instance of Webcam32. Multiple instances of Webcam32 can be started or configured, each with their own profile. Having multiple profiles allows multiple instances of Webcam32 to be started and each instance have its own settings which are distinct from the settings of others.
A profile is created by starting Webcam32 with the single parameter which is the name of the profile. For example
C:> webcam32 my_profile
An alternative and possibly better way of achieving this result in a Windows 95/NT environment is to create a shortcut dedicated to starting Webcam32 with a specific named profile. To achieve this, choose the folder or desktop in which the shortcut is to be created and right-click with the mouse. Next, select New and then Shortcut. The following dialog wizard will be displayed ...

This dialog asks for the location of the executable that will be the target of the shortcut. Assuming that Webcam32 was installed in C:\Program Files\Surveyor Corporation\Webcam32\Webcam32 and a profile called my_profile is desired, the complete entry for the command line would be:
"C:\Program Files\Surveyor Corporation\Webcam32\Webcam32.exe" "my_profile"
Note that the quote marks (") are important. Once entered, the Next button may be selected which will take you to the shortcut naming panel shown below:

This is where you would name the shortcut, it is recommended that the shortcut be named Webcam32 followed by the profile name. Press Finish to complete the job.
A new Webcam32 icon will now have been created with the indication that it is a shortcut. Right clicking on the icon and selecting properties, will present the following dialog:

The parameters can be modified at a later time if desired.
To invoke Webcam32 with the new profile, simply double-click on the icon. The first invocation with a new profile name will create the new profile.
V5.0.2 - Profile selection at startup
If there are multiple profiles in existence for Webcam32, when Webcam32 is started a list of available profiles will be displayed allowing selection of the profile that will be used. Note: In version 6.0 and later, profiles may also be removed using this dialog.
